Meteora Monasteries (1 Day)

An excellent excursion incorporating unforgettable scenery and the famous Meteora Monasteries. The monasteries on the top of these spectacular, gigantic rocks give you the impression that they float and thus are named Meteora. We visit the largest and most impressive monastery, Grand Meteora and it’s collection of important manuscripts, icons and Holy relics. Time is given to photograph of the other monasteries and the magnificent views before continuing to Metsovo. This traditional village is located in the Zagoria National Park and situated at an altitude of 1156m. Famous for its gastronomical products (especially the cheese and the wine) you can enjoy a tour of the village with our guide and some lunch in one of the tavernas. The journey is one of the most scenic in Greece! Don’t forget your camera!
